The Global Egyptian Museum

The statue depicts a farmer, carrying on his back some goods to sell in the city market. He is portrayed as if he is walking hastily. 

The head is missing, but the statue's trunk is sculpted in an extremely accurate and realistic manner. The trunk and strong muscles are shown in proportion with one another. 

The farmer wears the short pleated exomis, a Greek garment worn by men engaged in strenuous activity. All these artistic features express the realistic style of Alexandrian art.

Cette statue dont la tête fait aujourd'hui défaut, représente un agriculteur marchant avec précipitation. Il porte sur le dos quelques marchandises destinées à être vendues au marché. 

Le tronc de cette statue est sculpté avec une extrême précision et de manière réaliste. Ainsi, le tronc et les muscles sont bien proportionnés les uns par rapport aux autres. 

L'agriculteur porte un "exomis" court et plissé. Il s'agit d'un vêtement grec porté par les hommes effectuant des tâches ardues. Tous ces traits artistiques expriment le style réaliste de l'art alexandrin.

يصور التمثال فلاحاً يحمل على ظهره بعض العروض لبيعها في سوق المدينة. وقد صور كأنما يسير مسرعاً. ولأنه افتقد رأسه فقد نحت جذع التمثال بأقصى ما تكون الدقة والواقعية وقد تجلى الجذع مع العضلات متناسقة بعضها مع بعض. 

وقد ارتدى الفلاح قميص بغير أكمام وهو لباس إغريقي كان يتخذه الرجال ممن يستغرقهم نشاط مرهق، وتعبر كل هذه الأحوال الفنية عن واقعية أسلوب الفن بالإسكندرية.
