Description
The statuette of a dwarf dancer was created from a mold. It is wrapped in a cloak from the head downward. The head is topped with a crown with two lotus flowers. The dwarf is depicted dancing, his right arm bent before his chest and his left hand on his hip. The floral crown adds a ritual dimension to the dancer, who might be dancing in honor of a god or of a deified king. It might be a portrayal of the Egyptian tradition of dancing pygmies or it might depict the dwarf god Bes in disguise.
