This model of wood covered with stucco comes from the excavations of A. Gayet at Antinoopolis. Depicting a man standing before a block and a seat, the piece was probably part of much larger group constituting a scene of butchery or more precisely of the preparation of meat. It dates without doubt to the Middle Kingdom.
