The Global Egyptian Museum

The base of the statue bears a Greek text of six lines carved in relief on the face of the base. The text reads, "IMIMENAKHENTO TT HMONQOPTONAEI," which means, "The Alexandria Canal has been purified by the governor of the city under the Byzantine Emperor Leo the First." 

Above the text is the symbol of the Byzantine Empire, a cross inside a laurel crown. This statue was found in the Hagar Al-Nawatiya Zone, east of Alexandria.

Composé de six lignes, un texte en grec est gravé en relief sur la face avant de cette base. Le texte est le suivant "IMIMENAKHENTO TT HMONQOPTONAEI" ce qui signifie "Le canal d'Alexandrie a été purifié par le gouverneur de la ville, sous le règne de l'empereur byzantin Léon Premier". 

Au-dessus de ce texte se trouve une croix placée à l'intérieur d'une couronne de laurier, symbole de l'empire byzantin. Cette statue fut retrouvée dans la zone d'Hagar Al-Nawatiya, à l'est d'Alexandrie.

قاعدة تمثال مع نص باللغة اليونانية مون من ستة أسطر، ونري الصليب داخل إكليل الغار رمز الدولة البيزنطية ويقول النص المكتوب على واجهة القاعدة بالنحت البارز (IMIMENAKHENTO TT HMONQOPTONAEI) "أنه قد تم تطهير ترعة الإسكندرية" (المحمودية حالياً) بمعرفة حاكم المدينة علي عهد الامبراطور البيزنطي ليو الأول.

يعلو النص رمز الدولة البيزنطية والإكليل تتوسطه علامة الصليب، وقد وجد بمنطقة حجر النواتية بشرق الإسكندرية.
