Zweiergruppe des Hetep-Seschat und Frau

7788.JPG

The faces of these standing figures of a man and his wife have been smashed, the right arm of the man, the lower part of the back plate and part of the pedestal have been restored.
Both figures are wearing chin-length black striated wigs. The woman is wearing an ankle-length dress. The straps and ornate collars were originally painted. The right arm of the woman is around the man's shoulders. Shortly after the statue was unearthed, traces of the painted broad collar could still be seen on the red-brown skin of the man. He is wearing a white gala kilt. His left hand is fisted. The joins between the bodies and the arms are painted black. The base is unusually thin. The back pillar is inscribed.
