Lintel of Khaya

0203.jpg

The stela-shaped lintel is broad and rectangular, and curved at the top. The scenes are in low relief with fine inner detail. The texts are lightly carved. The lunette is divided into two decorated sections by a double column of text. The centre of the decorated surface depicts the fetish of Abydos with two ostrich feathers. Above the curve of the fetish is a uraeus with a double crown. On both sides of the representation are columns of text. On the far left and right, the tomb owner (?) is kneeling and facing the centre.
