The silver coin bears a portrait of Alexander the Great looking to the right and wearing the elephant leather headdress and the horns of Amun. The elephant leather refers to his triumph in India. The horns indicate that he is considered to be a son of Amun, the principal god of Egypt. 

On the reverse, the Greek goddess Athens is depicted holding the sword with her right hand and the shield in her left hand. The name of Alexander is inscribed in Greek in a column behind the goddess. 

This coin was minted in Alexandria, perhaps slightly before or after the accession of Ptolemy the First Soter of the throne of Egypt.

Cette pièce en argent est ornée du portrait d'Alexandre le Grand. Le regard tourné vers la droite, il porte une coiffe en cuir d'éléphant faisant référence à sa victoire en Inde et les cornes d'Amon. Ces dernières prouvent qu'il est considéré comme le fils d'Amon, le dieu le plus important d'Egypte. 

Sur le revers de cette pièce, la déesse grec Athens tient à la main droite l'épée et un bouclier à la gauche. Le nom d'Alexandre le Grand est inscrit en grec sur une colonne derrière la déesse.

Cette pièce fut frappée à Alexandrie soit peu avant, soit juste après l'accession de Ptolémée Premier Sôter au trône d'Egypte.

تحمل العملة الفضية صورة الإسكندر الأكبر متجهاً يميناً، معصباً بقلنسوة الفيل الجلدية وقرني آمون. يشير جلد الفيل إلى انتصاره على الهند، كما يدل القرنان على أنه يعد ولداً لأمون كبير آلهة مصر.

وعلى الوجه الآخر الإلهة الإغريقية أثينا تمسك سيفاً بيمينها ودرعاً بيسارها. وقد نقش إسم الإسكندر بالإغريقية في عمود من وراء الإلهة. 

وقد سكت هذه العملة في الإسكندرية، فيما يحتمل قبيل أو بعد تولي بطلميوس الأول الملقب ب (سوتير) أي منقذ عرش مصر.
