The terra-cotta Tanagra statuette depicts a girl wearing a blue himation, a rectangular cloth draped over the left shoulder and about the body. Her hair is covered with a straw hat. 

Her right arm is behind her back. She turns slightly, showing the folds of the cloak that hang down to the end of her back. Her Greek chiton, or knee-length garment, underneath the cloak, swings to the other side. 

The girl stands on her right leg, while the left is bent. Her face is well featured. 

The Tanagra figurines are distinguished by a diversity of shapes. They generally portray women. They were named after a small town named Tanagra in Boeotia, Greece, where many similar statues were found.

Cette statuette de Tanagra en terre cuite représente une fille vêtue d'un himation bleu, un tissu rectangulaire drapé sur l'épaule gauche et autour du corps. Ses cheveux sont recouverts d'un chapeau de paille.

Son bras droit se trouve derrière son dos. Elle se tourne légèrement, montrant les plis du manteau qui pend jusqu'au bas de son dos. Sous ce manteau, un chiton grec, ou habit qui descend jusqu'aux genoux, se balance de l'autre côté. 

Précisons également que cette fille se tient sur sa jambe droite; la gauche est fléchie. Les traits de son visage sont bien dessinés.

Les figurines de Tanagra se distinguent par une grande diversité de formes. En général, elles représentent des femmes. Le nom de Tanagra provient d'une petite ville éponyme située en Béotie (Grèce) où de nombreuses statues similaires furent retrouvées.

يصور تمثال تناجرا الفخار المحروق الصغير فتاة في هيماتيون أزرق وثوب مستطيل يكسو كتفها وسائر جسدها وقد غطى شعرها بقبعة من قش. 

وذراعها الأيمن من وراء ظهرها وتستدير قليلاً كاشفة عن ثناء العباءة المتدلية إلى غاية ظهرها حيث يتحول إلى الجانب الآخر ما عليها من رداء الخيتون أي الثوب البالغ ركبتيها من تحت العباءة. 

وتقف الفتاة بملامحها الطيبة على رجلها اليمنى على حين تنثني اليسرى. 

وتتميز تماثيل التناجرا بتنوع أشكالها وهي بعامة نساء من فخار وهي تحمل اسم مدينة صغيرة تسمى تناجرا في بيوتيا باليونان حيث عثر على الكثير من مثل هذه التماثيل.
