The Global Egyptian Museum

The statue depicts Eirenaios, a priest who held the position of protector, or "Prostates," of the Soknopaio Nesos temple. Sculpted in black basalt, the priest stands on a base in the traditional Egyptian pose.

He wears a three-part vestment. His hair is short and the nose is large. The head is slightly damaged, along with the chin, the right cheek, and a part of the neck. 

Down the center of his body, a dedicatory inscription is engraved along the legs and the feet. It reads, "Eirenaios junior, son of Pisois Prostates (protector) of Soknopaios, the great god."

Cette statue représente Eirenaios, prêtre qui occupait la position de protecteur du temple du dieu Soknopaio Nesos. Sculptée dans du basalte noir, il se tient debout sur une base ayant adopté l'attitude traditionnelle égyptienne.

Le prêtre porte un vêtement tripartite. Ses cheveux sont courts et son nez est grand. La tête, le menton, la joue droite et une partie du cou de cette statue sont légèrement abîmés. 

Le long des jambes et les pieds, l'inscription suivante est gravée: "Eirenaios junior, fils de Pisois Prostates (protecteur) de Soknopaios, le grand dieu".

يصور التمثال الكاهن ايرينايوس الذي تولى منصب حامي أو "بروستاتس" معبد سوكونوبايو نيسوس. وقد نحت التمثال من البازلت الأسود، ويصور الكاهن واقفاً على قاعدة متبعاً الأسلوب المصري التقليدي. 

يرتدى الكاهن ثوب يتكون من ثلاث قطع. كما يصور الكاهن قصير الشعر، كبير الأنف، مع وجود إصابة يسيرة بالرأس ممتدة لتشمل الذقن والخد الأيمن وجزء من العنق. 

ومن تحت وسطه نص منقوش على امتداد القدمين "ايرينايوس بن بيسويس بروستاتس (حامى) سوكونوبايوس الإله العظيم".
