Description
The small sized head of Ptolemy the Second Philadelphus was detached from a statuette carved in limestone. The head is portrayed with curly hair adorned with a diadem, a type of crown. The head was covered with stucco and bears traces of the colors often used to depict gods. The Greek facial features are prominent, the eyes are sunken, and the nose is straight and partly broken.
