A hydria is a three-handled water jug with two handles on the sides for lifting and a third at the back for pouring. 

The painted hydria of Hadara is made of ceramic. It is a product of the Laurel atelier, or workshop. The neck is decorated with laurel leaves, and on the shoulder a palm is framed with volutes, which are spiral or scroll-shaped forms.

A metope, a plain, smooth section like those on a Doric frieze, the area above the column, is on the belly of the urn. The metope is topped with three lines and bears the design of two ruffled cocks facing each other with a rose between them. 

The restored foot of the vessel is black. The two handles of the urn are most likely of Cretan production.

Une hydrie est un vase à eau à trois anses: les deux sur les côtés servaient à la soulever et la troisième sur le dessus était utilisée pour verser le liquide. 

Réalisée en céramique, cette hydrie peinte d'Hadara provient de l'atelier Laurel. Le col est décoré de feuilles de laurier; sur l'épaule, on peut voir un palmier entouré de volutes, ou formes en spirale ou en hélice. 

Une métope, ou section lisse semblable à celles que l'on retrouve sur une frise dorique, orne la panse de l'urne. Surmontée de trois lignes, cette métope porte un motif composé de deux coqs avec les plumes bouffantes face à face et séparés par une rose. 

Le pied restauré de ce récipient est de couleur noire. Les deux anses de l'urne sont vraisemblablement de production crétoise.

الهيدريا إناء للماء ذو مقابض ثلاثة منها مقبضان على الجوانب لرفعه والثالث إلى الخلف لإفراغه. 

أما هيدريا الحضرة الملون فمصنوع من الخزف، وهو من نتاج مرسم للغار أو مصنع. وقد زين العنق بأوراق نبات الغار، وعلى الكتف نخلة في إطار حلزوني أو أشكال كاللفائف. 

على بطن الإناء مساحة ملساء كتلك التي على الأفاريز الدورية الموجودة بأعلى الأعمدة، ومن فوق تلك المساحة ثلاثة خطوط تحمل ديكين منتفشين يواجه أحدهما الآخر وبينهما وردة. 

أما لون قاعدة الإناء المرممة فسوداء وأما مقبضا الإناء فالأرجح أنها من صناعة كريتية.
