The Global Egyptian Museum

The small terra-cotta shows Harpocrates mounting an African elephant led by a child. The figurine was covered with plaster and colored in red. 

Harpocrates was frequently portrayed riding on the back of an elephant, recalling the victory of Dionysos against India. 

The museum includes numerous clay and bronze statues showing Harpocrates in his varied forms. Most of them date to the Roman period.

Cette petite figurine en terre cuite montre Harpocrate à dos d'un éléphant africain mené par un enfant. La figurine était recouverte de plâtre et colorée en rouge. 

Harpocrate était souvent représenté à dos d'un éléphant ce qui rappelait la victoire de Dionysos en Inde.

Le musée compte de nombreuses statues de bronze et d'argile montrant Harpocrate sous plusieurs formes. La plupart d'entre elles datent de l'époque romaine.

يصور هذا الشكل حربوقراط وهو يمتطي صهوة فيل افريقي ويجر الفيل طفلا صغيرا. وهذا التمثال مغطى بالجص وملون بطلاء أحمر، حربوقراط كان دائما مصورا على ظهر فيل وهو هنا يسترجع انتصار ديونيسوس على الهند. 

ويضم المتحف العديد من تماثيل الفخار والبرونز لحربوقراط، بمختلف أشكاله يرجع معظمها إلى العصر الروماني.
