The Global Egyptian Museum

Tutankhamun's military trumpet is one of three known examples of this instrument preserved from ancient Egypt. It was fashioned from metal sheets covered with gold.

The mouthpiece is in the shape of a cylindrical sleeve with a silver ring at the outer end, fixed to a tube. On the outside of the bell is a panel depicting the king wearing the Blue Crown and holding the crook scepter "Heka". He stands before a shrine containing the figure of the god Ptah in the form of a mummy.

The inscription reads, "The Great One, Ptah, south-of-his-wall, Lord of Truth, Creator of all that the king receives, Life from Amun-Re, King of all Gods. He who rests his other hand on the king's shoulders, behind the falcon-headed god, Re-Horakhty, the good god, Lord of Gold".

All the figures are shown standing under the hieroglyphic sign for heaven and the baseline symbolizes the earth.

La trompette militaire de Toutânkhamon est l'une des trois trompettes datant de l'Egypte ancienne. Elle fut fabriquée avec des feuilles de métal recouvertes d'or. 

Fixée au tube, l'embouchure a la forme d'un manchon cylindrique pourvu d'un anneau en argent à son extrémité extérieure. Sur la partie externe du pavillon se trouve un panneau représentant le roi coiffé de la couronne bleue et tenant le sceptre en from de crochet "Héka". Toutânkhamon se tient devant un tombeau contenant la figurine du dieu Ptah en tant que momie. 

L'inscription suivante est gravée: «Louange à toi, Ptah le Grand, qui est au sud de son mur, seigneur de la vérité, créateur de tout ce que le roi reçoit, vie d'Amon-Rê, roi de tous les dieux. Lui qui pose son autre main sur les épaules du roi, derrière le dieu à tête de faucon, Rê-Horakhty, le bon dieu, le seigneur de l'or». 

Par ailleurs précisons que toutes les figures sont représentées en dessous du hiéroglyphe signifiant le ciel. Quant à la ligne de base, elle symbolise la terre.
