The Global Egyptian Museum

This wooden musical instrument is in two parts. The main part is a kind of long curved stick of which the lower end is an elongated rectangular cavity; the long sides of this are close to each other in the center. 

On the upper side of the instrument, four circular lines are incised in the wood. Just below, four small wooden pegs are fixed, to which strings might be attached and adjusted in order to produce music. 

The second element of the instrument is a rounded wooden bow, that was used to make music on the strings

Cet instrument de musique en bois est composé de deux parties. La partie principale est une sorte de long bâton courbé dont la partie inférieure est une cavité rectangulaire allongée; les longs cotés sont rapprochés au centre.

Sur le coté supérieur de l'instrument, quatre lignes circulaires sont gravées dans le bois. Juste en dessous, quatre petites chevilles sont fixées sur lesquelles des cordes sont sans doute attachées et ajustées pour produire de la musique.

La deuxième partie de l'instrument est un archet arrondi en bois, dont les cordes servent à produire de la musique.

آلة موسيقية خشبية، من جزئين. والجزء الرئيسي هو نوع من عصا طويلة منحنية، بنهايتها السفلى تجويف نحيل مستطيل الشكل؛ والجانبان الطويلان منه يقتربان عند المركز. 

وقد حفرت في الخشب أربعة خطوط دائرية، على الجانب الأعلى من الآلة. وثبتت تحتها مباشرة أربعة مشابك خشبية صغيرة، تربط فيها الأوتار وتعدل؛ لتعطي أنغاما موسيقية. 

والجزء الثاني هو قوس خشبي مستدير كانت تعزف به الموسيقى على الأوتار
