Denticulated concave-based arrowhead

BrE.6182(1).jpg
BrE.6182(2).jpg

This large arrowhead with a pronounced concave base was carefully bifacially retouched and provided with sharp dentitions along both edges. The retouching covers the entire artefact. Such arrowheads are particularly characteristic of the Faiyum Neolithic Period (5th millennium BC), but are also common in the Early Predynastic Period, particularly the Badarian Period.
