Upper part of double statue

5812.jpg

Upper part of a seated statue of a man (left) and a woman (right) leaning against a back plate. The break occurs at hip height. The round faces are completely worn away.
The slender bodies are worked directly from the back plate and show no detail. The figures are embracing each other with their inner arms, with the man's arm in front of that of the woman on a raised part of the back plate. The back plate, which is uninscribed, is smooth with rounded edges.
