Papyrus with Magical Figures

Alx-66-10-508-_800x800.jpg

The raw material of papyrus paper comes from the plant Cyperus papyrus. This plant grows in the swamps of the Delta, and thus it symbolized Lower Egypt.

The plant was not only used in the production of paper but also in the manufacture of boats, rope and baskets.

This magic papyrus contains two Coptic texts. There are also two human figures that have been drawn between the two texts. The figure on the right has a very strange face.
