Dit fragment van een houten handvat van een lepel is afkomstig uit de opgravingen van É. Amélineau te Abydos in 1895-1896. Het vormt het bovenste gedeelte van een handvat dat de bloemkroon van een papyrusplant afbeeldt met daarop een Hathorhoofd en twee uraei; die aan de rechterkant is getooid met de rode kroon van de Delta, die aan de linkerkant draagt de witte kroon van het Zuiden. Boven het Hathorhoofd ziet men nog de rand die het onderste gedeelte van de lepel aflijnde. Dit voorwerp, dat diende om schmink te bevatten om de ogen te beschermen, dateert waarschijnlijk uit de Late Periode.

This fragment of the handle of a wooden spoon comes from the excavations of E. Amelineau at Abydos in 1895-1896. It constitutes the upper part of a shaft depicting the corolla of a papyrus surmounted by a head of Hathor and of two uraei; the one on the right is dressed in the red crown of the Delta, the one on the left wears the white crown of the South. Above the head of Hathor, one can still see the edging which marked the lower part of the spoon. This object, which served as a container for make-up to protect the eyes, probably dates from the Late Period.

Ce fragment de manche de cuiller en bois provient des fouilles de É. Amélineau à Abydos en 1895-1896. Il constitue la partie supérieure d'un manche figurant la corolle d'un papyrus surmontée d'une tête d'Hathor et de deux uraeus; celui de droite est coiffé de la couronne rouge du Delta, celui de gauche porte la couronne blanche du Sud. Au-dessus de la tête d'Hathor, on remarque encore le bord qui délimitait la partie inférieure de la cuiller. Cet objet, qui servait à contenir le fard pour protéger les yeux, date probablement de la Basse Époque.

Questo frammento di manico di cucchiaio di legno proviene dagli scavi di É. Amélineau ad Abydos nel 1895-1896. Esso costituisce la parte superiore di un manico che raffigura la corolla di un papiro sormontato  da una testa di Hathor e da due urei; quello di destra porta la corona rossa del Delta, quello di sinistra porta la corona bianca del Sud. Al disopra della testa di Hathor, si nota ancora il bordo che delimitava la parte inferiore del cucchiaio. Questo oggetto, che serviva a contenere il fard per proteggere gli occhi, data probabilmente all'Epoca Tarda.

Este fragmento de cabo de uma «colher» de madeira é proveniente das escavaçöes de É. Amélineau em Abidos em 1895-1896. Trata-se da parte superior de um cabo com uma corola de papiro encimado pela cabeça de Hathor e por duas serpentes sagradas (ureus): a da direita tem a coroa vermelha do Delta (Baixo Egipto) e a da esquerda tem a coroa branca do Sul (Alto Egipto).  Sobre a cabeça de Hathor nota-se ainda o rebordo que delimita a parte inferior da «colher». Este objecto, que servia para conter o unguento destinado a proteger os olhos, data certamente da Época Baixa.

Este fragmento de mango de cuchara de madera proviene de las excavaciones de É. Amélineau en Abydos en 1895-1896. Es la parte superior de un mango con forma de  corola de papiro coronada por una cabeza de Hathor y dos uraeus: el de la derecha lleva la corona roja del Delta y el de la izquierda la corona blanca del Sur. Por encima de la cabeza de Hathor todavía se puede ver el borde que delimitaba la parte inferior de la cuchara. Este objeto, que servía para guardar el maquillaje que protegía los ojos, probablemente data de la Baja Época.
