Description
This painted limestone object was acquired at Abydos in 1905 by J. Capart. It constitutes a tube of kohl composed of two juxtaposed cylinders, containing short sticks for applying the cosmetic product on the eyes. The piece probably dates from the New Kingdom.

Dit voorwerp in beschilderde kalksteen is in 1905 door J. Capart verworven in Abydos. Het is een buisje voor kohl dat bestaat uit twee naast elkaar geplaatste cilinders die stokjes bevatten om het cosmetisch produkt op de ogen aan te brengen. Het stuk dateert waarschijnlijk uit het Nieuwe Rijk.
Ce objet en calcaire peint a été acquis à Abydos en 1905 par J. Capart. Il constitue un tube à khôl se composant de deux cylindres juxtaposés qui contenaient des bâtonnets pour appliquer le produit cosmétique sur les yeux. La pièce date vraisemblablement du Nouvel Empire.
Dieses bemalte Kalksteinobjekt wurde 1905 von J. Capart in Abydos erworben. Es ist ein Kohlröhrchen, das aus zwei nebeneinanderliegenden Zylindern besteht, die Stäbchen enthielten, mit denen das Produkt auf die Augen aufgetragen wurde. Das Stück datiert wahrscheinlich in das Neue Reich.
