Grande testa di ariete in pietra. La specie dell'ariete dalle corna ricurve, "Ovis aries platyra aegyptiaca", fu introdotta nel periodo della XII Dinastia ed è spesso associata al dio Amon. L'ariete era riverito come un simbolo di fertilità ed in epoche successive conobbe molti centri di culto, uno dei quali fu quello di Mendes sul Delta, in cui si venerava Banebdjed. The species of ram with the curling horns, 'Ovis aries platyra aegyptiaca', was introduced at around the time of the 12th Dynasty and is often associated with the god Amun. The ram was revered as a symbol of fertility and in later times had several cult centres, one of which was that of Mendes on the Delta, where Banebdjed was worshipped. The god Khnum was also worshipped in the form of a ram.
