The Global Egyptian Museum

A Byzantine bronze coin is dated to the time of Constantine the Fourth Pogonatus who reigned from September AD 668 to September AD 685. The coin was made in the mint in Abasis. The coin has a denomination of 12 nummia. There is no legend. 

On one side, a bust of Constantine the Fourth is shown wearing a crown and holding in his right hand a "globus cruciger," or a globe surmounted by a cross that is topped by a palm. On the right side is a star. 

On the reverse side of the coin, the letter M is placed between the letters IB. The Greek letters "IB" represent the denomination of the coin. The "I" stands for 10 and the "B" stands for 2 for a total of 12 nummia. Constantine the Fourth acquired the nickname Pogonatus or "The Bearded." 

During his rule, he faced many conflicts with the Arabs, the Bulgars in the Balkans, and even within the imperial family.

Il s'agit d'une pièce byzantine en bronze de l'époque de Constantin Quatre Pogonat " le barbue" (septembre 668- septembre 685) Frappée : Abasis. Valeur de 12 nummi sans légende.

Sur une face, un buste de Constantin Quatre est représenté, portant une couronne et tenant dans sa main droite un globe crucigère, c'est à dire un globe surmonté d'une croix, surmonté d'un palmier. Sur la droite, on voit une étoile. 

Au dos de la pièce, on voit un M entre IB. Les lettres grecques "IB" représentent la valeur de la pièce. Le "I" signifie 10 et le "B" signifie 2 = 12 nummi. Constantin Quatre acquis le surnom de Pogonat ou "Le barbu." 

Sous son règne, il fit face à de nombreux conflits : contre les Arabes, les Bulgares dans les Balkans et même au sein de la famille impériale.

عملة بيزنطية برونزية يرجع تاريخها إلى عهد قسطنطين الرابع بوجوناتوس (سبتمبر 668 - سبتمبر 685م). سكت بأباسيس. والقطعة من فئة 12 نوميا، وخالية من النقش أو الشعار. 

يظهر قسطنطين الرابع مرتدياً تاجاً وممسكاً في يده اليمنى بكرة يعلوها صليب من فوقه نخلة، وإلى يمينه نجمة. 

يظهر على الوجه الخلفي للعملة الحرفان اليونانيان الدالان على الرقمين 10، 2 (آي، بي على التوالي)، بمجموع 12 نوميا لفئة القطعة. اكتسب قنسطنطين الكنية "بوجوناتوس" - بمعنى ذو اللحية.

واجه خلال عهده نزاعات عديدة: مع العرب، والبلغار في البلقان، وكذلك في داخل العائلة الإمبراطورية نفسها.
