The mummy of Sobek, the crocodile god, is embalmed and resting on a wooden stretcher. During the second century BC, it would have been carried in processions through the village. To his worshipers, he was a god who created the Nile, a god of fertility and rebirth, and the symbolic strength of the ruler of Egypt. 

Depicted either as a crocodile-headed man or as a full crocodile, the god Sobek was usually shown wearing a plumed headdress with a horned sun disk or the atef crown. In his hands he was shown to carry a "Was" scepter and the "Ankh" sign of life.

The wooden stretcher has four arms and is simple to assemble. It is long so that there would be space for the number of priests needed to carry it. During festivals, the mummified crocodile was placed on the stretcher and carried on the shoulders of the priests, who walked around the temple in procession before placing the god in its shrine.

The wooden stand, in the shape of a box composed of panels, was intended to support the stretcher.

Cette momie du dieu crocodile Sobek est embaumée et repose sur un brancard en bois. Au deuxième siècle avant Jésus-Christ, ce brancard était porté à travers tout le village au cours des diverses processions. Pour ses adorateurs, il fut le dieu qui a crée le Nil, dieu de la fertilité et la résurrection, et le symbole de la force pour le gouverneur de l'Egypte.

Il fut représenté sous forme d'un homme avec la tête d'un crocodile ou bien un crocodile complet, il est toujours representé avec une perruque de plumes avec le disque solaire entouré de cornes ou bien avec la couronne de atef. Il porte dans ses mains le sceptre de "Was" et le signe de "Ankh", signe de vie. 

Ce brancard en bois est pourvu de quatre bras et facile à assembler. Relativement long, il permettait à tous les prêtres d'avoir suffisamment de place pour pouvoir le porter. Au cours des festivals, le crocodile momifié était placé sur le brancard et transporté sur les épaules des prêtres. Ceux-ci faisaient alors le tour du temple au cours d'une procession avant de placer la momie du dieu dans sa tombe.

En forme de coffre composé de panneaux, ce support en bois fut construit afin de soutenir le brancard.

مومياء للمعبود التمساح سوبك، محنطاً ومستقراً على نقالة خشبية، كما كان الحال في القرن الثاني قبل الميلاد، للطواف في مواكب مختلفة خلال القرية. بالنسبة لعابديه، لقد كان الاله الذي خلق النيل، اله الخصوبة والبعث، ورمزاً للقوة لحاكم مصر. 

كان سوبك يمثل في هيئة انسان برأس تمساح أو شكل تمساح كامل، وكان دائماً ما يرتدي فوق رأسه شعراً مستعاراً بريش مع قرص الشمس المحاط بقرنين أو ممثلاً بتاج الآتف، ويمسك في كلتا يديه بصولجان ال"واس" وعلامة "العنخ" رمز الحياة.

أما النقالة الخشبية فمزودة بأربعة أذرع، وهي بسيطة التركيب، وعلى قدر من الطول بحيث تسمح بتزايد عدد الكهنة الذين يحملونها. كانت مومياء التمساح سوبك توضع على النقالة، أثناء الأعياد، وتحمل على أكتاف الكهنة الذين كانوا يطوفون به حول المعبد قبل وضع الاله في ضريحه.

أما القائم الخشبي فهو في شكل صندوق يتكون من ألواح، تستقر عليه النقالة التي تحمل المومياء.
