The Global Egyptian Museum

The mosaic represents a portrait of Queen Berenice the Second, wife of Ptolemy the Third. She is shown with the prow of a ship on her head to symbolize the dynasty's naval power.

The queen's face is full and the forehead is broad and rather low. Other facial features include her big prominent glistening eyes, large straight nose, small full mouth, and parted lips. The hair is divided in the middle, combed to the back and the left ear is partly visible. The mosaic bears the signature of Sophilos, the Greek artist.

Cette mosaïque représente un portrait de la reine Bérénice Deux, épouse de Ptolémée Trois. Elle porte sur la tête la proue d'un bateau, symbole de la puissance navale de la dynastie ptolémaïque.

Le visage de la reine est rond et son front est large et plutôt bas. Parmi les autres traits de son visage, on retrouve notamment de grands yeux luisants, un nez large et droit, une petite bouche et des lèvres entrouvertes. Peignés en arrière, ses cheveux ont une raie au milieu. Son oreille gauche est partiellement visible. Ajoutons que cette mosaïque porte la signature de l'artiste grec Sophilos.

هذه اللوحة تظهر تصويرا للملكة برنيكى الثانية، زوجة بطلميوس الثالث. وتحمل الملكة فوق رأسها قيدوما (مقدمة مركب)؛ كرمز للقوة البحرية للعهد البطلمى. 

وجه الملكة في الصورة ممتلئ والجبهة عريضة ومنخفضة قليلاً، وعيناها جاحظتان لامعتان، والأنف كبير ومستقيم، والفم ممتلئ وصغير والشفتان مطليتان، والشعر مفروق من الوسط وممشط إلى الخلف، والأذن اليسرى مرئية جزئياً. وتحمل اللوحة توقيع الفنان الإغريقي سوفيلوس.
