The Global Egyptian Museum

The golden coin was minted during the reign of Ptolemy the Third Euergetes. The obverse of the coin bears a portrait of Berenice the Second. 

The queen wears a diadem, a type of crown, and veil. Her hair is pulled back in a bun, with a single curl falling on her face. Her face is round, with plump cheeks and jowls, a prominent chin, and a well-proportioned straight nose. 

The reverse of the coin bears in the middle the cornucopia, or horn of plenty, knotted with the diadem and with a star on each side. 

All of them are bound by the legend in Greek "of the Queen, Berenice" on a ribbon.

Cette pièce en or fut frappée au cours du règne de Ptolémée Trois Evergète. L'avers est orné d'un portrait de Bérénice Deux. Cette reine porte un diadème et un voile. 

Ses cheveux sont remontés en chignon et une mèche retombe sur son visage rond. Parmi les traits de son visage, on retrouve notamment des joues charnues, un menton proéminent et un nez droit bien proportionné.

Quant au revers de cette pièce, il comporte une corne d'abondance nouée de part et d'autre d'un diadème et d'une étoile. Selon la légende grecque, tous ces éléments appartiennent à la reine Bérénice.

عملة ذهبية تم سكها خلال حكم بطلميوس الثالث (يورجيتيس)، وقد نقشت صورة الملكة برنيكي الثانية على وجه العملة وهي ترتدي تاجاً وغطاء رأس، وقد عقصت شعرها للوراء إلا خصلة تسقط على وجهها. 

اما الوجه فمستدير ممتلئ الوجنتين، والذقن بارزة والأنف مستقيمة. 

قد نقش في منتصف ظهر العملة قرن الخيرات، وقد عقد على جانبي القرن إكليل و نجمة. وتعتبر كل هذه الرموز مرتبطة بالأسطورة اليونانية للملكة برنيكي.
