The black glazed hydria, a three-handled water jug with two handles on the sides for lifting and a third at the back for pouring, is topped with a figure of a woman. 

The reddish brown color around the lower part of the belly of the vase and the handle indicates a misfiring. This type of elaborate vase was common in the Hellenistic world. The brown-black glaze was perhaps intended to imitate more expensive metal versions of the same shaped vase. 

The applied reliefs, handles, and the ribbing indicate that a metal model was followed. 

The decoration consists of large intertwined ivy leaves and berries that are painted white, which is a characteristic of the Cretan workshops. 

A series of female figures also decorates the vase. They are draped in sleeveless chitons, or knee-length garments, with one arm either raised in a gesture of reverence, or perhaps indicating that they are dancing.

These figures were made in the same mold and applied to the vase before firing. In between them are masks of Queen Athena.

Surmontée d'une figurine représentant une femme, cette hydrie à glaçure noire est un vase à eau muni de deux anses sur les côtés servant à la soulever et d'une troisième sur le dessus pour verser le liquide.

La couleur brun rougeâtre autour de l'anse et de la partie inférieure de la panse témoigne d'une erreur de fabrication. Ce type de vase était plutôt commun dans le monde hellénistique. La glaçure brun-noir était peut-être appliquée afin d'imiter des versions métalliques plus onéreuses de vases ayant la même forme. 

D'ailleurs, les reliefs, les anses et les nervures indiquent que la réalisation de ce vase s'inspirait d'un modèle métallique. Les décorations de ce vase comprennent notamment de grandes feuilles de lierre entrelacées et des baies peintes en blanc. Il s'agit là d'une caractéristique des ateliers crétois. 

Cette hydrie est également ornée d'une série de personnages féminins drapés dans des chitons sans manches, ou habits qui descendent jusqu'aux genoux. 

Ces personnages ont un bras levé soit en signe de vénération soit pour indiquer qu'ils dansaient. Réalisées dans le même moule, ces figurines furent appliquées sur le vase avant la cuisson.

Entre les différentes figurines, on peut voir des masques de la déesse Athéna.

إناء ماء مصقول "مزجج" من أواني الحضرة، له ثلاث أيد اثنان على الجانبين لرفعه والثالث في الخلف لصب الماء، ويعلوه شكل امرأة. 

يدل اللون البني المحمر حول الجزء السفلي من بطن الإناء والمقبضين، على عدم اكتمال الحرق. وكان هذا الإناء المتقن من نوع شاع في العالم الهلينيستي. وربما كان المقصود من الصقل، "التزجيج" البني المسود، هو تقليد الأنواع المعدنية الأغلى ثمنا والتي لها نفس الشكل. 

تدل النقوش البارزة والمقابض والتعريقات على أن هذا الإناء قد نفذ تبعا لنموذج معدني. 

وتتكون الزخارف من أوراق لبلاب كبيرة مطلية بالأبيض مجدولة مع حبات التوت؛ وهي من خصائص الورش الكريتية. 

وتضم الزخارف أيضا سلسلة من أشكال إناث ملفوفات في خيتونات بغير أكمام، وقد رفعن ذراعاً للدلالة على التبجيل؛ أو على حركات راقصة. 

وقد صنعت هذه الأشكال في نفس القالب وأضفن إلى الإناء قبل الحرق، ويتخللها أقنعة للملكة أثينا.
