The Global Egyptian Museum

The small terra-cotta lamp base is a model of the Temple of Aphrodite. The style of the facade of the temple is purely Egyptian, having two pairs of columns with capitals in the form of the head of the goddess Hathor below a frieze, or ornamented band, of sacred cobras.

The arched pediment, the triangular space that forms the gable of a low-pitched roof, frames the sun disk. Aphrodite, the goddess of love in Greek mythology, is standing half nude inside the temple. 

Dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Hathor in the form of her Greek counterpart, Aphrodite, the model reveals the fusion of Egyptian and Greek art.

Ce petit culot de lampe en terre cuite est un modèle du temple d'Aphrodite. Le style de la façade du temple est purement égyptien. En effet, il dispose de deux colonnes ornées de chapiteaux en forme de tête de la déesse Hathor. 

Ces colonnes se trouvent sous une frise composée de cobras sacrés. Le fronton cintré, ou espace triangulaire qui forme le gâble d'un toit à faible pente, entoure le disque solaire. Aphrodite, la déesse grecque de l'amour, se tient à moitié nue à l'intérieur du temple. 

Dédié à la déesse égyptienne Hathor représentée sous l'apparence de son homologue grecque Aphrodite, ce modèle témoigne de l'union entre l'art grec et égyptien.

أظهر هذا النموذج الصغير من التراكوتا (طين محروق) إندماج الفنين الإغريقي والمصري. فواجهة المعبد صممت بأسلوب مصري صميم: بزوجين من الأعمدة وتيجان لها شكل رأس إلهة الحب المصرية "حتحور"، تحت إفريز من حيات الكوبرا المقدسة. 

وتحيط قوصرة الواجهة بقرص الشمس، بينما تقف أفروديت إلهة الحب عند الإغريق شبه عارية داخل المعبد. 

والمعبد الذي يمثل قاعدة مصباح، مكرس للإلهة المصرية حتحور في هيئة نظيرتها اليونانية أفروديت.
