Description
This ceremonial fan originally held ostrich feathers. It is made of wood covered with sheets of gold and inlaid with colored glass, turquoise, lapis lazuli, carnelian, and translucent calcite. The handle is inset with gold bands at intervals. The palm of the fan is decorated with the king's twin cartouches, which are protected by vultures wearing the White and Red Crowns of Upper and Lower Egypt, respectively. Several signs are represented: "Was," symbolizing "dominion"; the Shen, symbolizing "eternity"; the "Neb," meaning "gold"; and Pet, for "sky."

A l'origine, cet éventail de cérémonie comportait des plumes d'autruche. Il est en bois recouvert de feuilles d'or et est incrusté de verre de couleur, de turquoise, de lapis-lazuli, de cornaline et de calcite translucide. La poignée est entourée de bandes d'or espacées. L'éventail est orné des cartouches jumeaux du roi qui sont protégés par des vautours portant les couronnes blanche et rouge de la haute et la basse Egypte, respectivement. Plusieurs signes sont représentés : le Was, symbole de "domination"; le Shen, symbole "d'éternité"; le Neb, signifiant "or" et Pet, pour "ciel".
مروحة شعائرية، كان من مكوناتها ريش النعام، مصنوعة من الخشب المغطى برقائق الذهب ومرصعة بالزجاج الملون والفيروز واللازورد والعقيق الأحمر وأحجار شفافة. أما اليد فهى مدرجة بشرائط من الذهب على مسافات. وقد زينت قبضة المروحة بالخرطوش المزدوج للملك والذى يحميه النسور المرتدية للتاجين الأبيض والأحمر لمصر العليا والسفلى بالتبادل. كما تتمثل العديد من الرموز: واس رمز السيادة والسلطة وشن رمز الخلود ونب رمز الذهب وبت رمز السماء.
