The Global Egyptian Museum

This head portrays the Greek god Hermes with curly hair and a small mouth and nose. 

Hermes, like Thoth during the Pharonic period, was known as the Messenger of the Gods. 

Hermes was also thought to lead the deceased to the Netherworld. This head is an example of the care given in Roman art to the faces of sculptures.

Cette tête représente le dieu grec Hermès avec des cheveux frisés, un nez et une bouche de petite taille. 

Hermès, comme Thoth à l'époque pharaonique, était connu comme étant le Messager des Dieux. 

On pensait également que Hermès conduisait les défunts dans l'au-delà. Cette tête est un exemple du soin apporté dans l'art Roman aux visages des sculptures.

تمثال تصويري برأس المعبود الإغريقي هرميس، وقد صور بشعر مجعد وفم صغير وأنف دقيق. 

يقابل هرميس "تحوت-دجحوتي" في العصور الفرعونية؛ فكلاهما عرف بأنه "مبعوث الآلهة". 

كان يعتقد أيضا بأن هرميس هو من يقود المتوفى في عالم الآخرة. ويعد هذا الرأس شاهدا على العناية التي كان يوليها الفن في العصر اليوناني الروماني للوجه خاصة في النحت.
