The Global Egyptian Museum

This gold diadem was designed to secure the wig of the king during ceremonies and to protect his forehead in the hereafter. 

It is a multicolored masterpiece, decorated with gold cloisonnes inlaid with circles of carnelian and edged with inlays of turquoise, lapis lazuli, and blue glass. 

At the center front are the protective deities of Upper and Lower Egypt: the vulture goddess, Nekhbet, with inlaid obsidian eyes, and the cobra goddess, Wadjet, inlaid with semiprecious stones and glass. 

The papyrus flowers on either side are of malachite and the knot at the back is of chalcedony.

Ce diadème en or fut conçu pour maintenir la perruque du roi pendant les cérémonies et pour protéger son front dans l'au-delà. 

C'est un chef d'œuvre multicolore orné de cloisons en or, incrusté de cercles en cornaline et limité par des incrustations en turquoise, lapis-lazuli et verre bleu. 

La partie centrale du front est ornée des deux divinités protectrices de la Haute et de la Basse Egypte : Nékhbet, la déesse vautour, aux yeux incrustés d'obsidienne et Ouadjet, la déesse cobra, incrustée de pierres semi-précieuses et de verre. 

Les fleurs de papyrus latérales sont en malachite et le nœud à l'arrière est en calcédoine.

صيغ هذا الإكليل الذهبي بحيث يثبت شعر الملك المستعار أثناء الشعائر في حياته، كما يحمي جبهته في العالم الآخر. 

وهو تحفة فنية رائعة متعددة الألوان يجمع بين بعض الرموز. وقد زخرف بحلقات مطعمة بأقراص من العقيق، كما طعمت الحواف بالفيروز واللازورد والزجاج الأزرق. 

ويقوم في مقدمة التاج الربتان الحاميتان لمصر العليا والسفلى نخبت وواجيت. وجعلت عينا الربة نخبت الممثلة على هيئة النسرة من الأوبسيديان وطعم رأس الربة واجيت على هيئة الكوبرا بأحجار شبه كريمة وزجاج. 

أما زهور البردي على الجانبين، فقد صنعت من الملاخيت على حين جعلت العقدة في الظهر من عقيق أبيض.
