Tavolozza di pietra lucidata avente la forma di una tartaruga, con gli occhi originariamente intarsiati ed ora perduti.

Paleta em pedra polida com formato de tartaruga e olhos, em tempos, incrustados, estando hoje perdidos.

The Collection of Joseph Mayer (1803-1886) was donated to Liverpool Museum in 1867. It consisted of nearly 14,000 items, including Egyptian, Classical, Etruscan and prehistoric antiquities. Mayer's Egyptian collections were enhanced from several sources: Joseph Sams, a Darlington bookseller; the 1852 sale at Sotheby's of the collection of Viscount Valentia and the private purchase in 1857 of the collections of the Reverend Henry Stobart and Bram Hertz.
