Anthropoid sarcophagus made from polychrome wood, belonging to the Pure-priest Ankhefenkhons. It has two lids; an inner one, which was situated directly on top of the mummy, and an outer one, with which the sarcophagus was closed off.The surfaces are lavishly decorated with themes and motifs of ancient symbolical and mythological content: divinities, scarabs, funerary formulas etc. The deceased is portrayed on both lateral surfaces of the coffin as he is taking part in the cortege following the divine boat occupied by the sun godRe (shown once with a human head and once with a ram's head). At the bottom of the sarcophagus, in the part corresponding to the feet, Ankhefenkhons, the sarcophagus' owner, is shown as he is being led before Osiris who is seated on his throne. The texts are written in retrograde writing.
