Description
Ce couteau en silex, qui a été retrouvé dans une tombe d'El-Gerza, est fabriqué à partir d'une forte lame caractérisée par une arête prononcée. Celle-ci se trouve près du bord droit qui a fortement été retouché et forme le dos du couteau. On distingue une extrémité arrondie et une autre pointue. La partie arrondie, autour de laquelle devait s'articuler le manche, se trouve à l'extrémité distale de la lame. L'extrémité pointue est soigneusement remaniée. Le tranchant a été travaillé en de nombreuses retouches très fines.

Dit mes in silex, dat gevonden is in een graf in El-Girza, is gemaakt vertrekkend uit een een stevige kling die gekenmerkt is door een uitgesproken nerf. Deze bevindt zich dichtbij de rechterrand die sterk bijgewerkt is en die de rug van het mes vormt. Men onderscheidt een afgerond uiteinde en een puntig. Het afgeronde gedeelte, waarop het handvat bevestigd geweest <!-->moet zijn, bevindt zich op het distale uiteinde van de kling. Het puntige uiteinde is zorgvuldig bijgewerkt. Het scherp van het mes is met talrijke zeer fijne afslagen bewerkt.
This silex knife was found in a burial at El-Girza and consists of a sturdy, elongated blade characterised by a distinctive grain. The grain is close to the heavily worked right-hand edge and forms the spine of the knife. One end is rounded and the other is pointed. The rounded end, to which the handle must have been attached, is at the distal end of the blade. The pointed end has been carefully worked. The cutting edge of the knife has been retouched with numerous, tiny flakes.
Dieses Silexmesser aus einem Grab in Girza wurde aus einer kräftigen Klinge mit einem ausgeprägten Grat hergestellt. Dieser befindet sich nahe am rechten Rand, der stark retuschiert ist und den Rücken des Messers bildet. Man erkennt ein abgerundetes und ein spitzes Ende. Das abgerundete Ende, an dem der Griff befestigt gewesen sein muß, befindet sich am distalen Ende der Klinge. Das spitze Ende wurde sorgfältig überarbeitet. Die Schneide wurde durch zahlreiche sehr feine Retuschen hergestellt.
Questo coltello di selce, che é stato ritrovato in una tomba di El-Gerza, é fabbricato tramite una spessa lama caraterizzata da uno spigolo pronunciato. Quest'ultimo si trova vicino al bordo destro che é stato fortemente pronunciato e forma il dorso del coltello. Si distingue un'estremitá arrotondata e un'altra appuntita. La parte arrotondata, intorno alla quale doveva articolarsi il manico, si trova all'estremitá distale della lama. L'estremitá appuntita é accuratamente rifatta. Il taglio é stato lavorato con numerosi sottili ritocchi.
Esta faca de sílex, encontrada num túmulo de Guerza, foi feita a partir de uma grande lâmina caracterizada por ter uma aresta pronunciada. Esta encontra-se perto do bordo direito que foi retocada de forma pronunciada e forma as costas da faca. Nota-se uma extremidade arredondada e uma outra pontiaguda. A parte arredondada, à qual se devia ajustar o cabo, opöe-se à extremidade distal da lamina. A extremidade pontiaguda foi cuidadosamente trabalhada. A zona cortante apresenta retoques finos.
Este cuchillo de sílex, que fue encontrado en una tumba de El-Guerza, fue fabricado a partir de una fuerte lasca de piedra que se caracteriza por una arista pronunciada. Ésta se encuentra cerca del borde derecho, que fue muy retocado, y forma la espalda del cuchillo. Se puede ver un extremo redondeado y otro puntiagudo. La parte redondeada, en torno a la cual debía situarse el mango, se encuentra en el extremo distal de la hoja. El extremo puntiagudo está cuidadosamente trabajado. El filo fue trabajado mediante numerosos y muy delicados retoques.
