Description
A model portraying a group of young pikemen, natives of the nome of Asiut, was found in the tomb of Mesehti. The pikemen are arranged in ten rows of four persons. They are shown marching in disciplined step and carrying their shields, which are covered with animal skin. In their right hands, they hold lances in an upright position. The statues are so well sculpted in wood that they look real.

A
Une miniature représentant un groupe de jeunes archers, natifs du nome d'Assiout, fut retrouvée dans la tombe de Mesehti. Ces archers sont disposés en dix rangées de quatre personnes. Ils sont représentés marchant d'un pas discipliné et portant leurs boucliers recouverts de peau d'animal. Dans leur main droite, ils tiennent des lances verticalement. Les statues sont si bien sculptées dans le bois qu'elles semblent réelles.
نموذج يصور كتيبة من حرس شباب، من أهل إقليم أسيوط، تم العثور عليه فى مقبرة مسحتى. اصطف الجنود في عشرة صفوف، في كل صف أربعة منهم. وقد مثلوا سائرين في خطوات منتظمة، حاملين دروعهم المكسوة بجلد الحيوان، ممسكين في أيديهم اليمنى رماحا في وضع عمودي أمامهم. ولقد مثلت الشخوص الخشبية بطريقة تجعلهم في هيئة واقعية.
