This leopard head once decorated a garment that imitated the animal's skin through the use of silver stars in place of spots. 

This representation can be traced to the ancient concept of the leopard as a symbolic representation of the sky.

The leopard skin was a distinctive garment of the Sem priest who was charged with revitalizing the mummified body of the pharaoh in the ritual known as "Opening the Mouth."

A une époque, cette tête de léopard ornait un vêtement qui imitait la peau de l'animal. D'ailleurs, des étoiles en argent étaient utilisées afin de remplacer les tâches du félin. 

Cette technique peut être assimilée à un concept ancien selon lequel le léopard symbolisait le ciel. 

De plus, sa peau était utilisée en tant que vêtement distinctif du prêtre Sem. Ce dernier était chargé de revitaliser le corps momifié du pharaon. Pour ce faire, il accomplissait le « rituel d'ouverture de la bouche ».

رأس فهد كانت تزين رداءا شبيها بجلد هذا الحيوان؛ باستخدام نجوم فضية بدلا من البقع. 

ويرجع هذا الإستخدام إلى المفهوم القديم للفهد كتمثيل رمزي للسماء.

وكان جلد الفهد رداءا مميزا لكاهن "سم" الذي كان مكلفا بطقوس بعث الحياة إلى الجسد المحنط للفرعون؛ فيما يعرف بطقسة فتح الفم.
