Description
Upright rectangular stela, with modern red pigment around uninscribed edges to a line 0.8 cm below decorated face. A single line parallel to the edge demarcates the area of incised representations and hieroglyphic inscriptions; the figures and hieroglyphs bear substantial traces of blue pigment, including across the torsos of the two male figures. The first register contains 4 horizontal lines of hieroglyphic text (Inscription A). The second contains 3 and a half vertical lines of hieroglyphs (Inscription B) between two inward-facing figures of men seated on the ground, with knees raised; each man has close-cropped hair, and a kilt of indeterminate length with belt marked, and extends one hand over leg, holding the other to the chest. The left-hand figure also wears a plain collar; the right-hand figure is holding a kerchief in the hand held to the chest. The third register contains 3 vertical lines of hieroglyphs (Inscription C) between two inward-facing figures of women seated on the ground, with knee raised; each wears a long wig and plain collar, with one hand extended over the leg, the other holding a kerchief to the chest; the woman on the right has a strap across the chest.
